They are part of the batch of hopefuls from the first season of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition. The Big Winner Kim Chiu and one of the Big Four, Gerald Anderson, are one of the "hottest" properties of one of the country's leading network, ABS-CBN. Thanks to Kim Chiu's sweet and pa-cute image and Gerald Anderson's "cool" and Amboy looks: they are dubbed as one of the "hottest" and "most kilig" love teams in the nation. Who wouldn't "fall in love" with their oh-so-romantic and not to mention their oh-so denial that they aren't an item? Give me a break.
Not everyone is that stupid to be fool with this cliche of a tandem who keep on saying that 'they are just good friends' but shows a very unrealistic and very radical situation of display of affection. I mean, c'mon. If you say NO, you really mean NO. Just piece of advice with these two, that's not the right way to deny whatever they have (not that the public really cares).
I admit that, when I was watching the first PBB Teen Edition, I was actually rooting for Kim Chiu and once upon a blue moon, I even thought that, yeah hell, she looks good with Gerald Anderson. But I'm telling you that after the first 30 minutes of that insanity, I finally regained my composure and decided how stupid it was for this chinita girl to ignore the Atenista Mikee Lee, who has the brains. *rolling eyes* whatever.
And so the birth of Kimerald, the name that the fans of these two completely pa-cute couple made. Of course, they ride with the fame. To make more profit for the network, they made shows featuring them. Product endorsements left and right, and even going far with making a "singer" out of this Kim Chiu. Goodness, I'll even prefer Sandara Park's voice. Never mind if she's the Krung-Krung. The Krung-Krung is much better than playing-too-hard to be sweet-but-not-sweet-anymore Kim Chiu.
They are not even satisfied to irritate everyone.
Sana Maulit Muli. Hands-down with the very catchy plot (although some says that it was similar to the movie If Only), a very beautiful song coming from Gary Valenciano himself, splendid acting with the supporting cast most especially with the veterans. Come to think of it, I prefer Erich Gonzales here and even Jake Cuenca. But, like some critically-analytic viewers, Kimerald made a very lousy acting. I really don't know, but I even heard a rumor that Gerald Anderson was not even keen on the crying scenes...no, it was just the eye drops.... *rolling eyes*. The last update I heard about this TV series is that, it is already airing on the televisions in the land of Meteor Garden/manga-stealers Taiwan (hehehehe). Of course I can't do anything but to just write all my tantamount anger here. So I'll just pray that, hopefully the TV series' catchy plot, themesong and its very talented supporting cast, can give some respect to our country, the beloved Philippines... *a big round of applause*
"I've Fallen For You...finally, my heart give in...."
A very lovely song coming from one talented singer Jamie Rivera, from the last romantic movie of one of my favoritie Filipino love teams, Claudine Barreto and the late Rico Yan's Got 2 Believe. I've watched Got 2 Believe for like, 7 times to be exact. I admired the onscreen chemistry between Claudine and Rico. Most importantly, they effortlessly, make us believe that their "love" is for real. The main point? Acting, of course.
Last 2007, Star Cinema, produced the "romantic" movie , I've Fallen For You. Okay. The production was good, and I believe that director Lino Cayetano was good, most especially the writer of the movie (I forgot the name, geez). I also salute the supporting cast like Ms Lotlot De Leon and the other veteran stars, who made I've Fallen For You, very bearable to watch. I really don't know what to react, but I've read a lot of criticisms regrading this Kimerald movie. In the internet, there are circulating tidbits about the real amount that this movie earned and the rumors that some of the moviegoers are actually PAID moviegoers (I don't know how true it was though).
I really feel bad for the production, those people behind-the-scenes and the supporting actors who really, well, did a great job. Just because of these two trying-to-be-actors-but-aren't, they are also afflicted with criticisms...so sad. They don't deserve it!
Finally, this year 2008.
Korean craze severed our country. Hell yeah, it's a very sickening fact. Since the appearance of the Taiwanese Meteor Garden (heck, it already has a Japanese Hana Yori Dango and...tenetenet! A Korean version is also coming out!!! Sh*t!), a lot of Filipinos are driving insane with the continuous flow of Asian thingie.
I'm not saying that we must not appreciate these, but, in form of totally, um ,also making a Pinoy version with the Korean dramas...isn't too far already??
My Girl. Lee Da Hae, Lee Dong Wook, Lee Jun Ki and I forgot the other girl... and then, Philippine version....?
Tama, mga kaibigan. My Girl will be having a Philippine version. So here we are, hopefully not another laughingstock. Oh, it's not just the worst scenario. Lee Da Hae's character will be Kim Chiu. And Lee Dong Wook will be Gerald Anderson. Yeah. It's so terrible. Puke.
Wishing GMA's Kim Sam Soon will be much better, that it will be our savior from this stupid idea. I think this 99% pretty face but -0% of talent of a couple will be surely be happy because, "hopefully" it will refuel their already soon-to-be dead love team. Will this, ehem, ambitious project of theirs, gain profit to their mother-station? The truth is wait for the poor drama reviews in the future. ^_^
